Christopher Warren on Ruby on Rails, Programming, Photography, and Life

Half a week in to my new job, and I’m feeling pretty good about things. I like the people, I like the environment, I like the commute.
My immediate group at work is pretty small (4 of us), but I’ve met more people than I can even hope to remember from around campus. Not sure how many I’ll deal with regularly, but it’s good to meet them now.
Being back on campus is pretty entertaining too; it’s a beautiful place with so much happening - yesterday I had to get my ID made and stopped for a minute to appreciate the activity on the mall - an old guy talking about how we’re all going to hell, a couple guys juggling near by, people flying by on bikes, people sitting and reading in the sun. It’s such a busy place, I’m really looking forward to being around it.
I can take the light rail from my place to the University, so I’ve stopped driving much. It’s been fantastic - I have more time for reading, and I don’t have to worry about parking or traffic around the city. It might a bit limiting in what I can do in the evenings, but everything should be good, ultimately. Once I get my metropass (this week or next), I’ll be great.
Other things going on as well that I won’t get in to right now, but all in all I’m pretty happy with the current state of my life. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next for me. Yeah… I’m happy.
