I’m heading to RailsConf 2007 tomorrow evening, and I’m really excited to continue getting involved in Ruby on Rails. We’re going to be using it at work now, and I expect Ruby to become a pretty significant part of everything I do in the coming years. It’s a great feeling to be excited about this, not feeling any anxiety about being unfamiliar like I have with past languages. I’m still covering my own way to the conference, but my supervisor decided today that I don’t have to take days without pay to go (I don’t have holidays yet).
Brian, Carissa, Mike, and Josh will all be at RailsConf too, as will some of the people I’ve met at RUM. This should be an interesting experience from SXSW, where I went not knowing anybody. I’m going have to make it a point to still talk to as many strangers as I can, these things are always such a fantastic opportunity to meet new people.
I’m excited.
